On our recent trip to Poland, my son and I had booked a six hour personal guided tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau with Poland at War. Booking was straightforward, and communication with Damien, our Poland at War contact, was prompt, friendly and helpful. On the day of our visit, (24/02/26), our guide Ewelina was ready and waiting for us. Throughout the day she showed an astounding degree of knowledge, delivered with an obvious passion for her role, matched by her compassion for the victims of the atrocities committed. Our experience was further enriched by her sharing her personal experiences over eighteen years of knowing or having spoken with several survivors of the camps - including a local family story. Because we were a small private group, we were able to access some parts of the camp that larger groups couldn’t. It was undoubtedly an emotionally challenging day, but we both felt we had, thanks to our amazing guide, achieved everything we could possibly have hoped for during our visit. A massive thanks to Damien, Ewelina and Poland at War for an unforgettable experience. Thoroughly recommended.

This is probably one of the most difficult sites to see on this planet. Damien did a wonderful job explaining how the experience will play out, and did everything possible to make us feel better along this difficult journey. We were deeply affected by the visit, and I thank Damien for providing a lot of information, historical facts, and trying to lighten up the atmosphere.

This 6hr Private Tour of Auschwitz was one of the most meaningful things I have ever done. Visiting Auschwitz has been something I have been wanting to do for a long time now and so when I had the opportunity to do an extended tour, I really wanted to. Working at Poland at War Tours was also so easy and so great. Damien was so much help when it came to booking the tour and even helped me with figuring out how to do transportation to and from Auschwitz on my own. He was always very responsive in his emails and did a great job explaining things to me and recommending different things. I would definitely book other trips with him again in the future. If you are on the fence about doing this 6hr tour, don't be! It was so worth it.

Damien and Kasia were amazing guides and were full of information. They took us to sights we wouldn’t have found on our own and told the story in a captivating way. Would thoroughly recommend.
